  1. OMD mum says that needs a supersized like! i think we love that Bay Village police department! Roadrunner cartoons were repeated ad nauseam when she lived in Canada back in the 70s, as were Happy Days and The Waltons. It was a small town and there were only a couple of tv channels… ah, the good old days… endless Wile E Coyote antics and Goodnight John Boys. Now look what you’ve done, they’re still funny after all these years… boulders are the best…

    • Thanks for the supersized like, even if there isn’t a function here yet!

I know what you mean about Wile E Coyote, it’s one of the best cartoons ever, along with Sylvester and Pinky and the Brain.

Two of my favourite cartoons above were Warner Bros, do you know one of the stories of the animation department?

Jack Warner one of the eponymous Bros, was touring the Warner Bros Studios, surveying what he co-owned probably, when he came across a shabby bungalow with a lot of noise coming from it and Jack asked quite rightly what went on in there?

The answer was so vague that he decided to go inside and find out for himself. Inside it was mayhem, paper aeroplanes flying about, madmen dancing on desks and generally having far too much fun for a studio owner to stomach.

When asked what these idiots were doing they idiots replied “making cartoons!” Jack stormed out of the building and announced that the department should be closed immediately. A decision that lasted for almost five minutes whilst his flunkies explained that the Animation department contributed vast sums to the botttom line of Warner Bros Inc.

Jack allowed the operation to continue, but never went near the bungalow ever again.

I do hope that is a true story it was related to me by one of the legends of the animation industry who is sadly no longer with us :0(

    • Agreed – boulders rule!!!!

  2. They forgot to mention painting fake tunnels
