The Queen is just like us then!   Leave a comment

The creepy and totally misguided headline of the British Newspaper The Telegraph today announced “Queen rides with commuters on train back to London.”

They went on to say that “Regulars aboard the 10.54am from King’s Lynn are joined by a Royal guest as the Queen returns home to London.”

And here is the photographic proof that the queen took a more or less empty train and didn’t have to stand and rub shoulders with thousands of other real commuters on their way into London to earn a living.

Queen just like us

However if you look closely at the photograph it tells another story and shows that she isn’t at all like commuters. When commuters leave a train it is early in the morning, they are already tired from standing all the way into London, and as head for the barriers and off to work (again unlike the queen) they are usually in a hurry!

The illusion is completely dispelled when you read on “The Queen has displayed the common touch by catching a commuter train back to London after her Christmas break in Norfolk. Escorted by the station manager, she boarded the 10.54am Great Northern train service from King’s Lynn station to Kings Cross on Monday, taking her first-class seat five minutes before departure.”

Yeah right the station manager always comes out to see regular wage earning commuters off! In fact it’s his main job function I understand! That sort of nonsense is only true if you live in the sort of cloud cuckoo land that the royal family inhabit!

The grovelling didn’t stop with just details of who kowtowed and where, the newspaper described the outfit that the Queen wore. It was terrible and looks as though several pigeons had taken aim and then a dump on her, but The Telegraph didn’t notice.

Sadly the whole common touch angle became awfully obtuse when the newspaper grovelled on just a little too far and said she was “Returning from her annual Christmas break at Sandringham.”

This statement proves that the royals are just like all commuters in England who’s Christmas holidays end in the second week of February.

It’s odd that The Telegraph didn’t report that the first class carriage was empty except for the queen and several dozen flunkies and was cordoned off to keep Mr Hoi and Mrs Poli away, just as it was in December 17th when she got a mid morning train to Sandringham, and the royals 20,000 acre estate, to start her Christmas hols.

The sooner we get rid of this family of spongers and replace them with something more cost effective the better! Ten weeks Christmas holidays is just too much, in fact it’s five or six weeks longer than the average commuter gets for the year, let alone Christmas!
