A special kind of recycling from Hong Kong

Does this sign in Hong Kong mean what I think it means? I am afraid so and in at least four languages.

Mind you I spent a month in Uzbekistan doing the very same thing I am afraid to say. Happily the customs and border controls are so severe that you can’t take the ‘stuff’ out of the country, just like you can’t take out more than $1000 even if you brought more in with you, clever that!

I can guess what they do with the cash they confiscate, but what they do with the other stuff leaves me scratching my head!

“There’s now’t so queer as folk,” as they used to say when ‘queer’ meant simply odd or unusual and not what it sadly means these days! Oh those days were so nice weren’t they. You could say, “I feel a little queer!” And mean you weren’t the ticket or all that well. The human language and its speakers are odd aren’t they?

No don’t answer that plead the fifth instead! Actually pleading the fifth is something I have always fancied doing, but sadly I have such a big mouth or as I like to say, ‘I am so talkative,’ that I would have incriminated myself long before I remembered to do such a clever thing as pleading the fifth.
