Chinese exaggeration and toilet humour

Ten thousand flowers yeah right? In the west we just use air freshener it’s so much easier and less labour intensive. And of course not having all those flowers means you have more room in your average toilet, no wonder the Chinese are grabbing large amounts of other people’s territory.

Worse it takes a Cat to point out what is so obvious, I bet they’ll flush with embarrassment when they read this! Tee hee.

  1. Well I have to say that I think it would be 10000 times better if instead of ‘going to the loo/lavatory/toilet… or, as some people say, bog or john’ one could say one was just visiting the chamber of 10000 flowers. Sounds positively elegant and sweet smelling. In fact I bet the Queen already visits the chamber of 10000 flowers. We’re having family to stay for Christmas this year and I think our downstairs cloakroom is going to be adorned with a sign on the door just like the one in your blogpost.

    • Sounds like a plan. Maybe you could rename all of the rooms in you home, bedrooms could be ‘The Palace of Semi-Eternal Peace,’ the Hallway ‘The first step of ten thousand,’ and the kitchen ‘The Place of Plenty!’

      Well it’s just a thought!

  2. BOL and mum should know, she never misses an opportunity to visit those chambers of a lot of flowers. Me, I just find a nice patch of grass, so much easier.
